What is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist?
Accredited Exercise Physiologists are highly skilled, university qualified experts in the field of clinical exercise. All Elossa training staff are Accredited Exercise Physiologists which means that they hold as a minimum a 4-year Bachelor Degree and have to meet professional standards set by the peak professional body, Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). There are rigorous accreditation standards that must be maintained to continue to practice as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist therefore Elossa members can be reassured that their training is safe, effective and evidence-based.
What can I expect from an Elossa Circuit?
Elossa Circuits are made up of different exercise stations that have been expertly designed to increase strength, balance and cardio fitness. Each circuit is around 40 minutes long.
The circuits are designed by our team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists to safely challenge you to become stronger and fitter. Elossa Circuits are group based, which means you are training in a supportive, collaborative and fun environment.
We will regularly change and update our circuits to keep it interesting and challenging.
Training at Elossa is more than just exercising – it is about being part of a community of like-minded, age-inspired people. Training as part of the Elossa community we hope will energise, empower and connect you to a common goal of getting fitter and stronger together.
How do I know if I am getting stronger and fitter?
When you join Elossa you will have a personalised Initial Assessment with one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists which sets a baseline for your level of fitness. Each of our circuits is run by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists who will ensure you are continually and safely challenged to advance.
In addition, our specialised equipment records each of your Circuits and the repetitions and weights you do. This allows us to produce a progress report from which our Accredited Exercise Physiologists are able to monitor your progress. This report is also available to you at any time.
Every 3 months with Elossa we recommend all members book a Review Assessment to compare your current strength and fitness to the level you were previously, and since the start of your Elossa journey. We are pretty certain that you will be amazed at the difference.
Do I need a Doctors referral or medical clearance letter?
You do not need a Doctor’s referral to join Elossa. However if you want to get the Medicare rebate for your Initial Assessment you will need a Doctors referral letter. You can get this form from the Studio.
You do not need a medical clearance letter to join Elossa. However if you are over 75 years of age, or new to exercise or have not exercised in a long time, or have a chronic or other medical condition then we recommend a medical clearance from your GP. Our Exercise Physiologists can discuss your individual medical history during your Initial Assessment and advise you accordingly.
The health and safety of our members and staff is our top priority. We have committed to the NSW Health COVID-19 safety plan ensuring that we follow strict safety measures and cleaning protocols. Our studio has implemented additional cleaning and disinfection procedures including providing disinfectant at all stations so that members can clean before and after use.
At Elossa we believe that pulling together as a community to each do our part is important to keep us all safe and so we ask that members do not attend the studio if unwell, waiting for a COVID-19 test result or have been instructed to isolate.
All Elossa staff are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
